It’s late, but I just finished this commissioned (by the man’s wife) portrait. They’re horse-raising, NASCAR loving folks from down near Rutherfordtown. I’ve never met either in person, but she’s lovely on the telephone. Is it enough for me to say that one of the primary pleasures of this work I’ve chosen is that I keep meeting folks whom I would never, otherwise (and for many reasons), know? In any case, I started this painting/portrait and wondered what it must be like to live with man who had such startlingly (and they really ARE) Siberian husky, ice-blue eyes…
