Oil Pencil, Pastel, and watercolor
2006 or so (once again, I don’t keep track of this archival business)
And, once again, a view from the front of the main house at Indian fields……just down the road. I remember when we first saw the realtor’s sign: “PROPERTY FOR SALE”. We were on a five hour drive back to Durham, but we ended up driving into the deserted place on that snowy day after Christmas…..thinking “we’ll BUY this farm”, and then realizing that we didn’t have paper&pen to write down the number of the real-estate agent who’d posted a sign by the one-lane road. We agonized over this, trying to make each of us responsible for remembering at least 1/2 of the information (which, of course, didn’t work). It didn’t occur to us that Our Modern Selves could have just used the digital camera to TAKE A DAMN PHOTOGRAPH of the sign……
Both Herve and I realized that having something around eight degrees (education, not temperature) between us didn’t count worth diddly when it came to being practical. Eventually, we did locate the realtor, but it took a lot of blind-telephoning from North Carolina…
