Well, trotting along according to my draconian production schedule, I’ve just finished this “portrait” of Karen Barker. I should emphasize that she’s a multi-award-winning pastry chef and the author of several highly-regarded cookbooks, in addition to owning (along with her husband) a restaurant which has consistently, for 20 or so years, won numerous national awards. She does not, as a very general rule, present herself as “MRS. Benjamin Barker”. She’s also very forgiving, for which I suppose I should be grateful….
