Well, I happen to like this picture a lot….and, yes, I know that there are plenty of cynical things to said about fathers taking their sons out fishing for a “bonding” session. “Re-establishment of the Oppressive Patriarchy” and all, etc…..
Personally (and having spent too many years teaching too many boarding-school boys whose long-divorced dads never did anything-much beyond paying to send them off to a boarding school), I’m all for fathers who take their sons out to fish. My own father did so. (Not that it did much good…… These days, I just carelessly swipe a debit card at the Whole Foods fish-counter when I want to eat fish…..)
