FOR SALE: “Spring Run”
Pencil, pastel, and watercolor
2024. (SOLD)
For a while there, while I was living on Quail Roost’s 500 acres of prime horse-farm, all I painted were horse’s bodies….without riders or all the leather trappings (I still find that they get in the way, so to speak, of a portrait of the actual horse).
Lately, I keep painting portraits of just the head and necks (I know……shades of “The Godfather”). Still, I like being around horses. I know…..most of the high-bred ones are hysterical and suicidal half the time…..but they’re incredibly patient during the other half. That’s when I think they’re most beautiful.
Oh…..and for those who keep wondering how it looks JUST LIKE A PHOTOGRAPH!…? My response is: (1) it doesn’t, & (2) look at the first comment below to see how it’s done
