The majority of my landscapes are, obviously, small, brown, and austere.... very Ghandi-esque, I like to think.... Almost all of them are of my home-region, in the mountains of Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. Writing this, it just occurred to me that those pictures which aren't from a remarkably small region of the upper-south are invariably from either Northern Vermont or Southern Louisiana.....both of which are just about as far as you can get (without crossing the Mississippi) from where I was born. If I went to therapy, I'd probably find this fact worth mentioning.
For the most part, these pictures are also relatively small.....ranging between 8"x10" and 20"x25". I remain surprised that they're so popular , given that scarcely any of them are "pretty" in any standard way.
