"These Moments"

"These Moments"

watercolor, pencil, and pastel

The core of this old, rambling house is a two-story log-cabin.....built sometime before 1800 as a schoolhouse where the first Governor's spinster daughter taught until she pulled up stakes and moved off to Missippi in the 1830's.

This is a portrait (which I like very much and gave to my friend, Bob Niedbalski, for Christmas this past year) of my friends, Lynne Clarke and Laure Levesque (yes, she's French) in the school, by the fire, and obvously wrapped-up in their conversation.

My large and clever Sewanee friend, Jeff Richardson, has suggested that I title the portrait "Now, THIS Little Piggy went to MARKET!!!!....."
